The Intel Distribution for Python (IDP) is powered by Anaconda and is focused on tools and techniques to accelerate the performance of Python and the widely used numerical computing packages, especially for the latest Intel processors.

To use IDP on discover, type (only in a Bash Shell environment):

          For Python 2.7

            module purge
            module load other/comp/gcc-7.3
            module load other/SSSO_Ana-PyD/SApd_5.0.1_py2.7_gcc-7.3
            source activate idp

          For Python 3.6

            module purge
            module load other/comp/gcc-7.3
            module load other/SSSO_Ana-PyD/SApd_5.0.1_py3.6_gcc-7.3
            source activate IDP3

To verify that you have access to IDP, type:

          conda env list

and you will get:

          conda environments:
          #
          idp                   *  /usr/local/other/SSSO_Ana-PyD/5.0.1_py2.7_gcc-7.3/envs/idp
          root                     /usr/local/other/SSSO_Ana-PyD/5.0.1_py2.7_gcc-7.3

You can list all the available Python related packages in IDL:

          conda list

Here are the basic settings for a batch job:

            #!/bin/bash
            #SBATCH --time=02:30:00
            ....
            source /usr/share/modules/init/bash
            module purge
            module load other/comp/gcc-7.3
            module load other/SSSO_Ana-PyD/SApd_5.0.1_py2.7_gcc-7.3
            source activate idp

            python myPythonScript.py
