cdf generation for noah 3.6 ol simulation

hello

 

i am facing a problem in generating cdf file using LIS OL output for my area. The LIS run was completed using princeton v2.2 forcings for 2008.

 

The problem is the ldt is unable to read LIS OL output file variable.

[ERR] Error in nf90_get_var: SoilMoist_tavg Stopping.         -57

endrun is being called

 

I am trying to assimilate smops ASCAT data for 2008 and the ldt run works well for generating smops cdf files.

 

I am attaching the error log, ldt config file used for cdf , lis config file used to generate OL simulation, and the first output file generated by LIS OL simulation.

    Hi Nirdesh:

     

    The NetCDF error code -57 translates to "Start+count exceeds dimension bound".  That suggests the expected dimensions differ from those actually used in the CDF file.

     

    With that in mind, I looked at your ldt.noahcdf.config file, and I see a mismatch in your LDT Run Domain and the LIS soil moisture output settings, due to a typo:

     

    Run domain lower left lat:            7.75

    Run domain lower left lon:            68     

    Run domain upper right lat:           35.5

    Run domain upper right lon:           97.5

    Run domain resolution (dx):           0.25

    Run domain resolution (dy):           0.25

     

    ...snip...

     

    LIS soil moisture domain lower left lat:      7.75

    LIS soil moisture domain upper right lat:    68       # <-- Above has this for lower left lon

    LIS soil moisture domain lower left lon:    35.50    # <-- Above has this for upper right lat

    LIS soil moisture domain upper right lon:   97.5

    LIS soil moisture domain resolution (dx):    0.25

    LIS soil moisture domain resolution (dy):    0.25

     

     

    The lis.ol.config file has the same Run domain settings as above, so I think the LIS soil moisture settings are wrong.  Try swapping the lower left lon and upper right lat and see if it works.
